Reconstruction of Minibrewery Trautenberk, Malá Úpa, Czech Republic

The Trautenberk microbrewery was created by the reconstruction of the original Tippelt hut, later known as the Družba Hotel. The property is located in the northeastern part of the village of Horní Malá Úpa. It is situated in close proximity to the road leading to the state border with Poland. The building offers a view of Pomezní Hřeben and the valley of Malá Úpa. From the main road you can observe the downhill slopes of the adjacent winter center.
During the reconstruction, the architects of ADR studio decided to clear the building of numerous reconstructions that took place in the second half of the last century. In the exterior, the traditional wooden cladding with a stone plinth is complemented by a facade made of folded sheet metal at the later extension.

A new microbrewery with a maximum capacity of 10,000 hectoliters of beer has been newly created in the underground floor of the building. The interior of the restaurant on the ground floor is dominated by original refurbished lights from the First Republic era. The upper floors of a practical mountain hostel offer beds for 130 guests.
